to Lake Rimkus

This site shows an ongoing project in the Braddocks Bay area of upstate NY on two acres that includes a 1/3 acre pond surrounded by a wildflower meadow, an orchard/vineyard, and a boat/storage shed. The land was purchased in 2004 and was cleared in 2005. The pond is approximately 140' by 100' with a maximum depth of 12' and an average depth of 8'. It has been guesstimated to hold approximately 700,000 gallons when full. Since no springs were hit in the digging we are totally at the mercy of the rain gods to keep it full. Even though we are about a half mile from Lake Ontario, as the crow flies, the ground here is solid clay.

The pond was designed and created in 2005/2006 by Bruce Zaretsky. The pictures of it's creation can be seen below.
The pole barn was constructed and spray foam insulated in 2008 by JAG Construction.
The 7.42kWh solar array was added in 2015 by Sustainable Energy Developments [currently Emphase Energy].
